If you're like many people, you may have found it's not always easy to get out and around.
The Problem
Physical difficulties, traffic, parking, public transportation, costly ride-share options, risk of air-borne infections from enclosed & crowded places, and more are all reasons many seniors are home-bound.
Plus, it's not always easy to meet new people to do things with. As a result, many older adults feel lonely and isolated at time according to a 2023 US Surgeon General Advisory on the Healing Effects of Social Connection and Community.
An Answer
That doesn’t mean people don’t still want to learn new things, engage in interesting discussions and enjoy themselves with others of their age group. That’s where ThePlayground Senior Circle comes in. We are a free, secure, private website built on the Circle.so community-building platform, with NO ads.
Seven days a week ThePlayground provides at least one hour of live events to connect members. We offer a 24-hour Open Zoom where members can pop in to see if others are there, or use it to arrange for private group gatherings (when not being used for Daily Events). There's also the morning Coffee Chat in the mornings, musical events, trivia games, movie night, open chat, discussions on a variety of issues, and much more.
Members have access to direct messaging with each other, Daily Open Chat for reaching all, links to outside resources, a member marketplace for offering any goods & services to others (no self-promotion anywhere else allowed!), and over two dozen interest groups for sharing articles, links, memes, photos, and more.
